All That Glitters Inspired Bridal Shoot
It's Wednesday again which means I have another shoot to share with you! Having thoroughly missed festival season this year, there was absolutely no way I could not be involved in this shoot, they had me at glitter! It was such a gorgeous venue, and another absolutely incredible team of suppliers to work with. I've included my personal selection of highlights below, as well as a writeup on how I created the various hairstyles, and to see the full feature, head over to Save the Date Magazine.
For this shoot we had 3 models to work with, and 3 very different hair types. It's always really important to me to work with the natural hair types, and also to harmonise the hairstyle with the other elements of the shoot. Arabella had very long, very thick, very straight hair (I actually thought she had extensions when I first saw a picture of her!) that would have taken forever to curl! I created 2 symmetrical pull through festival braids, and just curled the ends. I had so much fun pulling these braids out and creating lots of volume before finishing them off with a large dose of glitter.
Cass had the most gorgeous naturally tightly curled hair, and there was no way I was going to hide that all away! I popped some oil through the lengths, and created a braid starting at her ear and heading towards the crown, which gives the illusion of a side shave, and then reinforced any of the curls I brushed out to created the braid with a micro wand. I then finished the hair off by applying lots of gorgeous silver biodegradable glitter around the braid. Later on in the shoot, we wanted to apply a veil, so I used some of the lengths to create a bun at the crown of Cass' head that we could pin the veil under.
For Jadey's first look, I curled her hair using a couple of different techniques to make sure we had lots of texture. for her second look, I created a half up half down style with braids, making sure we topped it off with plenty of glitter.
