Boho Bridal Styled Shoot at The Manor Rooms
Updated: May 26, 2020
I love getting to take part in bridal styled shoots! I take part in quite a few whenever I have the time, and when this one came up I couldn't turn it down! The Manor Rooms at Drewton are absolutely stunning, and I have since organised a shoot there myself (but that's all you're going to get out of me for now!). To read the full feature on this shoot, head over to Brides Up North, where the shoot was published in November!
The Hair and Makeup For this one, we actually did three looks. 3 dresses, 3 main set up's, and 3 different hair styles, with minor additions to the makeup each time. We started with Bronte's hair in loose curls, as I knew it would be harder to keep a down style looking clean and neat later on in the shoot if it had been up first. Bronte has the most beautiful freckles (did you know freckles are fairy kisses? True story!), and I really wanted to be able to let them shine through, so only used a light coverage of foundation. I wanted to keep everything very natural, whilst picking out those light coral tones that featured in the styling for the shoot, without making the colour overwhelming. I used an eye shadow brush to barely touch her lips with lipstick, just to add a really soft flush of colour. Sometimes lipsticks can be a real statement with a bridal look, but I ddin't want that to be the case, I wanted everything to look balanced, with a real focus on Bronte's beautiful skin.
Lot's of people have been choosing more simple styles for their weddings recently, so the second look we chose was a pony tail, allowing her hair to curl around itself, and teasing out small sections at the crown to add texture. We also had access to some gorgeous accessories brought by the lovely ladies at Chloe Jayne Bridal Wear, who provided the absolutely incredible dresses, and the moon clip was a perfect addition to sit on top of the ponytail.
The third hairstyle, again, keeping it quite simple, was a beautiful teased out boho bun, accompanied by a starry headband. As well as emphasising the lip colour a little more on this one, I also added more definition to the eyes, but not so much as to draw focus away from Bronte's beatiful skin.
I love to keep makeup very natural, and taking the brides personality into account as well as the other elements of the wedding to keep everything seamless, but I loved having the opportunity on this shoot to create hair that is slightly different to the hairstyles I'm normally asked for. I loved keeping everything very simple, but still adding texture where I could to make it 'mine'.
