Farmer Copley's Wedding Shoot
Updated: May 26, 2020
A few weeks ago I had the absolute pleasure of working together with a large group of wedding suppliers on a styled photoshoot at Farmer Copleys in Pontefract! It is such a beautiful venue and we even conducted the 'ceremony' in a corn maze!
The Hair and Makeup
One of the things I love about working with other suppliers is collaborating on ideas and working together! Zavinta (from Beadi I Bridal Designs) and I worked closely together in the lead up to the day so that each of our creations would compliment each others. She provided a gorgeous clip for the bride and a beautiful hair vine for the bridesmaid.
Rebecca
Rebecca was our lovely bride for the day. The shoot took place near the beginning of summer, so I wanted to keep her over all look quite bronzy, without making it too heavy. She had gorgeous skin, so I used a pretty light foundation to make sure her skin could shine through. She also had the most fantastic eye shape for me to play with, which allowed me to create a bit of extra depth, which really complimented her skin tone. Zavinta and I had discussed doing a low messy bun in order to show off her hair piece, which also then meant Amber from Minni Quinni creating a veil that would sit underneath the hair design. Rebeccas hair was longer and thicker than I expected, which meant I didn't have to use any extra hair padding, and we could really build up the leayers of gently teased hair that created the bun. I love texture, so I also created a french braid leading in to the bun from the top of her head which I could also gently pull out.
Lanina
I hadn't seen a picture of Lanina before the shoot, so I actually originally had a slightly different idea for her hair, so I could weave the vine in and out of her hair. She had a lot more hair than I was expecting, and it was very curly, so I didn't want to do anything that might damage her hair, or be difficult to remove for her at the end of the day! I ended up leaving in her natural curls, and braiding large sections at the back, teasing the sides out to create a large bun at the back of her head to drape the vine around, which then echoed what we had done with Rebeccas hair. Lanina also has beautiful skin, so again I kept her makeup very natural, using tones that complimented the dress she was going to wear.
Helen
I've worked with Helen a couple of times now, after having first exhibited next to each other at a wedding fair in April this year. She is one of the loveliest people I know, and if you have been thinking about having a celebrant led ceremony, you should absolutely get in touch with her! She has gorgeous curly hair, so I wanted to leave it as it is, and again we kept the makeup quite natural and bronzy to compliment the colour scheme for the day
