Modern, Minimalistic Styled Shoot
Well, this year has, admittedly been a little bit insane. As well as lots of weddings that have had to be postponed, I was also supposed to be taking part in a fair few styled shoots that have now also had to be postponed or cancelled alltogether (you can't really recreate bluebells at any other time of year!). We were so lucky to still be able to shoot this modern, minimalistic styled shoot about 2 weeks before Boris told us all to stay home and watch Netflix for the next 3 months, and it was also published over on the English Wedding Blog a few weeks later! Follow the link for the full write up, and stick around for my more in depth breakdown of the hair and makeup, as well as some of my favourite images below!

The Hair and Makeup
I was lucky enough to have 2 models on this occasion, Bronte who I have worked with before, and who you might recognise from this styled shoot. Because I had worked with Bronte before, I knew how her hair and skin were going to behave for me, which made the process much smoother. We kept her hair really simple, a slightly textured, low knotted bun with some face framing curls, so we could really show off the hair accessories we had been sent. For Dan's Hair, we went for a nice relaxed, boho take on a hollywood wave, which sat perfectly into the shape of her dress!
For the makeup we wanted to do something with a bit of a metallic graphic liner. People often want to have something a bit different or unique about their makeup, but don't know how to incorporate this without going for something quite dramatic. As well as a hair and makeup artist, I am also a face and body painter so I have a huge stock of exciting paints that can also be incorporated into makeups as graphic liners. It's not something I generally carry in my hair and makeup kit, so is something that needs to be discussed beforehand. On Lam's mood board, there were loads of gorgeous images of metallic graphic liner, so we decided to incorporate subtle gold paint into Bronte's Eye Makeup, and a crystal white into Dan's Makeup. we kept everything really natural looking except for those subtle pops that sat alongside the winged liners, and in their creases, and we also used a nice deep berry toned lip for Bronte so we had some contrast to the makeup, and between the two models.
