Pink, Hops and Stars inspired shoots
This was one of the first styled shoots I took part in after I was allowed to work again (yay!) Unfortunately, I was also supposed to have been able to do makeup and a little bit of body art, but a few days before the shoot, it was announced that the relaxing of close contact services would not go ahead as planned, and would be postponed for two weeks. I was however, still allowed to do hair. You can read the full writeup of this awesome shoot as well as watch the full length video here!
Meg had really lovely not-quite-shoulder-length hair, and we also had a really gorgeous vine from CRZy Best (who organised the shoot) to play with. It gave me the opportunity to create a really sweet, twisted half up half down style. I prepped Meg’s hair with product, and curled using straighteners, making sure to curl in different direction to give me some variety in the texture. While her hair was cooling off and she was doing her makeup, I gave Cole’s hair a bit of texture with some wax and spray.
Once Meg had finished her makeup, we sat her back down to create her hair style. I love working with accessories, and had to make sure I was incorporating the hair vine as I went to make sure It didn’t look like it had just been placed on top, and was instead a part of the hairstyle.
We also had time to do hair for both Rebecca (the incredible harpist) and Karen (our awesome celebrant). Karen usually wears her hair in tight curls, so I made sure we had plenty of texture in her incredible pink hair! Rebecca had a lovely accessory to incorporate as well, so I did a low bun with the sides of her hair over the accessory so it looked like a headband, but you could still see the tassels at the bottom.
Here is a selection of some of my favourite images from the shoot! All of the amazing suppliers are also listed below! If you have a couple of minutes, I would also love for you to head over to Cole’s go fund me page to read his story
