Sustainable Woodland Wedding
Hello everyone and welcome to 2021! For my first shoot share of the year, I thought I would share the first shoot I took part in after lockdown round 1. We did this shoot at the beginning of July, and I hadn't styled an actually human beings hair since March! I was chatting to the model in the run up to discuss her hair and realised we had worked together in 2019 on one of my first ever styled shoots, so it was really nice to be in familiar company with people I had worked with before. This shoot was published over on Rock My Wedding, and you can see the full writeup here! Keep reading to hear how I styled Lanina's hair and to see some of my favourite images!
So, at this point I wasn't allowed to do makeup, so we just styled Lanina's hair. She has really curly hair so I asked her to wash it the night before and let it air dry in plaits. I wasn't sure wether we would have any electricity at the venue as it was outdoors. I was told I would be able to plug my tools into someone's van, but when we tried it my tools started flashing, so I decided not to take the risk! So I styled Lanina's hair without using any heated tools, and lots of curl cream! As her hair is so curly, I had a lot of natural texture to work with, as well as a gorgeous hair comb to use, so I decided to create a nice, low textured bun with a braid around the outside that the comb would be able to sit on top of.
